Danny Rogers - Editor of PR Week

Unity PR kindly invited the trainees and I to a talk by Danny Rodgers at their offices in Chancery Lane.  He walked us through several of the most important campaigns in recent years and a few that he had worked on himself (e.g. The Rolling Stones). This was great, as it gave listeners a direct insight into how he thinks, what he looks for in a campaign, and the key elements that have made them a success. Danny touched on several important areas of the industry, and mentioned specifics that, in his opinion, will need to be sharpened up on in the future – like key messaging, authenticity and courage in he campaign.

Following his talk there was an open discussion involving the team members from Unity, Danny and the trainees. This was particularly interesting as people of all levels shared their disbelief at certain political happenings, and their wonder at other successful campaigns. An enlightening and thoughtful morning, with the added bonus of a signed copy of his new book, 'Campaigns that shook the world; The Evolution of Public Relations'.
